Simultaneously, a young boy was lost their life in a distinct Russian drone strike in the Zaporizhzhia area in the southeastern part, as reported by regional authorities.
Moscow has increased strikes on power infrastructure over the past few days, while the country's government has demanded "concrete actions" from allies to apply pressure on Moscow.
"What's needed is not window dressing but decisive action - from the United States, the EU and the G7 - in providing air defence systems and implementing restrictions," was stated in a social media post.
Officials stated that hundreds of unmanned aircraft and over thirty rockets targeted the country's power systems, labeling such attacks as "premeditated" and against "everything that sustains normal life" as the weather cools.
Energy officials said Moscow was "launching a major assault" and maintenance teams were working to restore power.
A barrage of missiles damaged power facilities and civilian homes in the capital.
Five out of the nine people wounded in the strikes on the capital have been transported for medical care, per statements from city authorities.
Area administrators said the urban area endured heavy assaults throughout the evening. A young boy died and multiple civilians were wounded.
The strikes come after nights of air raids in the area, sections of which remain under the control of Russian forces.
The whole nation is in a state of readiness for advanced weapon attacks, which are more difficult to spot.
Authorities told reporters that Russia was deliberately attempting to destroy the electrical infrastructure, with attacks already impacting fuel infrastructure.
